I can't even activate the card! How can this be legal? I spoke to a lady named Sonny she was the rudest person I've ever spoken too! After I waited over a hour to speak to someone, still didn't fix the card! Horrible horrible customer service!

I made a purchase with the vanilla visa card back in July never received product as of August 20th so put in a dispute with the card company it is now October spoke to customer service today about my dispute they said they closed the case no dispute on there end after there review so basically I'm screwed out of 100.00 so I basically told them they can take there card and shove it. Dont use this company there a BIG SCAM

I live in VA. All groceries stores sell only visa/MC Vanilla. A lot of cards don't have the 4 last digits. Stores won;t help you as all sales r final and don;t allow you to open the card even in front of them prior purchase. The Vanilla customer service will ask you to upload ID, receipts, front/back of giftcard and wait for 30 days of the verdict. Must submit to them several times: *******@incomm.com and fax *******563 as they will buy time pretexting not receive the proofs

Card needs 24hrs to be activated. Card is blocked because i paid 2 consecutive orders with different amount from a same website. Customer service is from Philippines, waiting time is at least 30 minutes. Must contact via phone only because online access is blocked too. If you google and click to vanilla wrong website to verify balance, card is blocked too.

I was happy with my vanilla card they're good at flagging your account when somebody's trying to take the money off of it but in the end it gets hacked entirely too much my new card is not even 30 days old and it's already been hacked twice and I'm still waiting on money that was hacked off for the one before it so I'm not real happy with my vanilla anymore

We purchased quite a few gift cards, yearly for employees, and otherwise, and that won't be happening any longer due to the fact that they cannot stop theft, which is now the customers problem and after spending numerous hours on the phone literally numerous hours of waste of time they can't give solutions, and when they do give solutions, they sound irritated to even bother dealing with you when your purchasing from them it's the most insane thing I've ever seen I highly suggest don't purchase gift cards at all. Use some other way of gifting money to people because gift cards in general have become a disaster. Especially the vanilla company.!

If you're reading these reviews wondering if you should buy a MyVanilla card, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. These people will block your card and force you to get a new one EVERY 1-2 MONTHS. They claim there's sketchy activity on your account, but in reality someone is blocking your sh*t for fun. F*CK MYVANILLA. PICK *ANY* OTHER COMPANY.

I received a Vanilla card as a gift in October 2018, it has taken me four months, many emails and phone calls to get it registered. Time will tell if it actually lets me purchase anything!

Received a $50 gift card as a present and when I went to check the balance was 0. Someone had already hacked the card a taken the money barely 24 hours after it was purchased. DO NOT BUY THIS CARD. Their security is a joke, customer service useless, and no resolution given. Visa doesn't give a crap, they got their money, so it's a matter of complete indifference to them as to who actually ends up with the money. Use cash app or something else or get ripped off.

I received a gift cardfrom secret Santa.
This card didn't have but 12 numbers for card number so I could not activate. Dec 17 sent proof but yet to have a working card. This is ridiculous.

I got a vanilla gift card last year for a Xmas gift 50$ and I go to use it and it gets declined why cause the card number was stolen all of it but.03$. I was told that I would have to wait 45-90 days to get back my money on a new card. Now I go and get one for 20$ and again someone hacked the card and stolen all of it but.06$ and again I have to wait 45-90 days which is bull$#*!. I will never be getting another vanilla card ever again don't waste ur money.

I've been using for years but always transfer the balance to PayPal or Google pay. No payment issues when I do that.

Iv had over $100 on this card just disappear and it's impossible to get a hold of them to ask what the hell happened to it very disappointed I work hard for this money for it to just disappear! Very upset

Brutal support from start to finish. It all started about a month ago when my card stopped working so I cut it off at the instructions but they're refusing to replace it now, and I spent hours on hold, but nobody's willing help me

This company is a scam! Their customer service is useless and condescending. They have no problem taking your money but you will have every difficulty in the world trying to use your money. I can't use my card in store by swiping it, typing it in manually, or online. It's useless. And when you call customer service they send you in circles. Bottom line is F**K vanilla gift card!

I was told it would take up to 21 business days to receive a new card.

What a huge waste of time and a hundred bucks. Can't get it to swipe at Walgreens, wouldn't work at a restaurant for the dinner check, and when I finally used it enough to have 17 bucks left on it, the website and Vanilla "customer service" line say "something wrong with your card - go back to where you bought it". Finally just cut it up into four pieces and threw it into the trash - chalking it up at 17 bucks worth of learned-my-lesson tax… buyers beware.

Tip for consumers:
Just hand your kid cash or set up Apple Pay on the phone.

UPDATE: I have my account back and my statements. I'm still dumping Visa/Incomm. The stress I went through on top of everything else is NOT worth it.

I have talked to no less than 3 customer service representatives behind www.myvanillacard.com and I feel so lost.The first at least ordered me a new card. The last two promised me my transaction statements from October and November in no less than 48 hours. I talked the third customer service representative on Friday 12/30/2022 and it is now Tuesday 01/03/2023. That's one hell of a wait.I'm very inconvenienced by this. I understand that a business can be very busy, but I have been waiting for 4 days now. I stated in reviews and complaints on Pissed Consumer and Consumer Affairs that is a request of my mortgage lender for the IRS.

Tip for consumers:
Visa and Incomm are incompetent and inconsiderate. My tip to others: quit them immediately. Forget online shopping: brick and mortar stores with plain old cash and coin from your bank.

Used the card once and all the money disappeared. Customer service said call back in two days after pending charges posted even though I hadn't used it but once to see if it worked. Two days later, website is down, customer service automation says my card is invalid and wont let me speak to a real person. They don't even have a contact me e-mail. You have to write them a letter. Thieves and CVS sells these things. They are just as guilty. May as well burned the 400 bucks

Never get anything from them they hacked the cards and are note going to fix it. This is a scam company please don't use them. I'm in the process of suing them now. Also they never even started my dispute just keep saying call back in 10 days

I have no trouble with activating my card on phone or registering it online. I also got through customer service with no problem and they 100% helped me with my issue. I've had no problem with this card.

These cards are awful! They make it SO hard to use and I can almost guarantee you will be unable to use the balance! No customer service! Plus, be prepared for having to block 20% more than your purchase!

I leave MN and someone in New York was able to take the remaining $110 of my gift card. I filed a claim with vanilla gift card in May 2022. It takes supposedly 30-45 days. Today is the 45th and nothing. Called to check the status of getting refunded and all the guy could say is "you case is still open. You have to wait still". I would never make this mistake again. BIG SCAM

The card cannot be used for online purchases where the merchant asks for "name on the card" because there is no name associated with the card. My call to customer service was useless they just told me to try another merchant:-( Why do they advertise it can be used for online purchases? It cannot because you can never fulfill the requirements of the online mastercard transaction without having the name on the card. False advertising, bordering on scam. We haven't found a vendor yet who will take this card.

Got one for my granddaughters birthday. Put 200.00 on it for her. When she went to use it, some scammer was ready and used up the entire balance amount the second she made a small purchased. Because the scammer purchased games on google for over 180.00 dollars and the money was cleared before anyone knew it was being used, Visa would not refund any of the money and after weeks of requests, and repeated claims, we have heard nothing from Visa.

Do not buy the Visa Vanilla Debit Card....it is a scammers dream card.

Do not buy Vanilla Gift Cards. This company is a scam. We got a $500 gift card from our boss last Christmas. When we tried to activate the card, it said the amount is insufficient. We found out someone already made an unauthorized purchase of $480 at Walmart. When contacting customer service (waited for 30 min on the phone), we were told it takes 90 days to investigate. 90 day is up and they said they didn't received the claim form we submitted. WTF? I think the company is betting that we have to jump through hurdles to get reimbursed and hope that we finally give up.
