What began as a wonderful experience with Turo through Guy, went sour when we upgraded with his colleague Roman.
A day or so after we returned the vehicle on March 27 we were informed that we were being charged almost $300 for smoking in the vehicle and would never be allowed to rent with Turo again. This was based on three photographs: one with two Doritos that has slipped between the seats, another of the outside of the vehicle, and a third, which supposedly proved we had smoked in the vehicle, when in fact, it was silt from 1000 miles of travel and glacial hikes. At no point or we advised of any policy around cleaning the vehicle before returning it. Nor were we told that purchasing marijuana products which is legal in Alaska, could potentially result in us being accused of actually smoking it in the vehicle.
I am currently having to contest this claim with the bank, and after almost a month and a half Touro has still not been in communication with anybody to substantiate this fraudulent claim.
Sadly, I cannot in good conscience recommend Turo to anybody.
