I purchased 36 items in one order (order no: GSON*******EHR and the total came to £335.53 which includes £41 as handling charges. Of the 36 items received I returned 29 items as there were size or fabric quality issues. The amount was refunded but the handling charges was not apportioned to the 36 items (should come to £1.14 per item). For the 7 items retained I am still paying the full £41 as handling charges when it should have been apportioned and ideally I should be paying £7.98 (£1.14 x 7). The actual cost of the 7 items I have retained is £51.04 but they have added £41 handling charges which really doesn't make sense as I am paying nearly double for the dresses/shirts! There is no easy way to reach a customer service agent, it is all managed by Bots! Shein please refund my handling fee to my original account! Or contact me on my phone number given in the account. Never again Shein!

Pathetic response from customer service. Not helpful at all. Host cancelled my reservation last minute due to issues with his. These issues have been going on for long but he didn't inform me. I had to chase him to get a response. Airbnb was not helpful at all. Neither did they compensate me. Their service charges are also too high. I will never use Airbnb again. I have seen that many of the properties listed on Airbnb are listed on other sites too and they don't charge service fees; they charge the host. Best to search the Internet for other sites and enjoy the experience.

Tip for consumers:
Go to other sites on the Internet, you will find better accommodation at cheaper rates. The service fee is very high

I recently booked a flight with Expedia.co.uk and they are not transparent with the charges during the booking.
Expedia UK provides you a price in GBP and when you actually book a flight you end up paying in GBP. I recently booked a flight for £783.51 and at no point it was mentioned that the airline I chose was charging in Euros and that the GBP price quoted is an estimate. I used my credit card to pay £783.51 and when my credit card statement arrived I was shocked to see that the amount paid was in Euro. And I was charged 913.72 plus non-sterling transaction fee of £21.55. Firstly, I lost out on the exchange rate as the credit card companies never offer good exchange rates - the exchange rate applied was 1.1662 when it was 1.1862 on that day.
If I was to pay 913.72@ the correct exchange rate of 1.1862 I would have paid only £770.29. I therefore lost out £13.22 straight away on the exchange rate! Added to that a non-sterling transaction fee of £21.55. My total loss was £34.77.
When I contacted Expedia they pointed me to a clause 3.1 in their huge list of Terms and Conditions (which apparently I accepted) and said that they are not liable for these fees and that the price in GBP was an estimate. This is ridiculous as they were never transparent about the charges. I feel cheated! Their terms and conditions are on https://www.expedia.co.uk/p/support/general-booking-conditions.

I also booked my accommodation through Airbnb and they quoted me a price in GBP for a Euro destination and that is what I paid. The conversion etc was already applied by Airbnb and I knew exactly what I was paying for my accommodation - there were no conversion or any non-sterling transaction fees whatsoever. This is what I mean by transparency.

Expedia are a bunch of cheats. They are never transparent about their prices.

House of Fraser is closing half of it its stores in the UK. No wonder they got to this situation with the kind of unfriendly staff they employ. We were walking past the Reading Oracle store on a Sunday afternoon and noticed a beautiful black dotted dress displayed on a mannequin. We went into the store and asked one of the employees where we can find this dress in the store. And she politely refused to help saying "I am sorry, I am at this counter, you can go around the store and look". Our jaws dropped at this attitude; not that she was serving any customer at that time! And my wife was quick to respond with "thank you, you have been very helpful". There were not many people in the store that afternoon. We walked away further down the store and asked another employee at the till. And this employee was not attending to any customer at the time we asked her. Her polite reply was similar to the first one "I am sorry but I am serving at this till". "Serving who?" was the question we asked ourselves and walked further down. At this stage my wife wanted to walk out of the store. She stayed in because of me as I wanted to buy that dress for her as she would have looked great in it! On my insistence she went further ahead and asked another employee and this time my wife mentioned to her that we have been trying to get help and no one seems to be willing to help! The employee said that she will call the manager and went on the phone and spent 2 minutes talking to someone. And then she asked which display window it was. We told her that this was the downstairs display window. The employee went and looked at the dress and came back and said that she will call the manager. She went on the phone and was talking to someone for about 5 minutes and we were asked to wait for the manager to come. After a few minutes she walks to us and says "Let me go and have another look". She went down and returned after 5 minutes only to tell us where we can find this dress - not that she would come with us to show the dress. We went to the said section of the store only to find that she had directed us to the wrong dress!
Three employees, thirty minutes in the shop and they couldn't get the dress we asked for! Best to close down the business! Please spend some time, energy and budget on training the staff on the basics of customer service.
