“I'm sure that many of you will agree with me, when...”

danny-cleese s.
6/29/14

I'm sure that many of you will agree with me, when I say that more and more businesses are letting us, the customer down. They all want our custom and actively seek to impress us before we buy. All goes well until we the customer have a problem or just want to ask a simple question, then the bottom falls out of their glossy world and we are left annoyed, stressed and in some cases, out of pocket. I know there are companies around that do go the extra 1500 metres, (good old metrication) when things go wrong but they seem to be the exception, not the norm. This is where review sites and especially Trustpilot can really help, for the one thing a business hates is a really bad factual review. Consumer reviews hit them where it proverbially hurts, their profit margin, for we all read and are influenced by a well written review. The Trustpilot review site gives us the consumer, the means to be noticed by businesses big and small; furthermore, a Trustpilot review shows us the companies that we can trust. Trustpilot uses software to monitor, as they say "coarse language"and so keep us the reviewer in check when writing, shall we say, a heartfelt review. This I found out when trying to express a term in the vernacular, I had to settle for the term "hen up", surprisingly they wouldn't allow me to use the male of the species. This review site really does work, only the other week I was let down badly by a supplier of garden furniture, I won't mention their name, as they say; to protect their guilty. Anyway, after the "protected ones" had failed to deliver twice! Had failed to answer several emails and phone calls, I signed up with Trustpilot, then put it all in scathing, detailed print. A few hours after it went live the company was on the phone to me, I got a good discount and the furniture. REMEMBER, never underestimate the power of the review and never underestimate the power of a TRUSTPILOT REVIEW..

“Will never use again!”

I've written positive reviews and negative reviews. On 3 occasions now, both positive and negative have been removed (You don't get a say, it just gets removed) despite me sending in documentation to prove I'm not fake! Not only that, they refuse to answer emails and perish the thought of writing a negative review about them on their own website, it just gets deleted too! Pretty disappointed when I've tried to review a company who have duped and scammed and misled individuals yet Trustpilot just don't want to know!

''As part of our efforts to ensure that all Trustpilot reviews are genuine, we have customized software that detects unusual activity on our platform. In this case, our software has flagged that at least one of your reviews is likely to be spam. We take this very seriously, and have therefore blocked your user account and removed your reviews from our platform.'' And then I did notice a lot of fake reviews and/or scams. Fairly obvious on some pages that the 5 star reviews are made up. As a whole, it makes their website fake.

Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time. They don't monitor fake positive reviews, while companies are allowed to have genuine bad reviews suspended.

Trustpilots failure to correctly identify multiple fraudulant positive reviews enables criminals to promote their scams on the Trustpilot website. Trustpilot is fully aware of this yet they are unable/unwilling to rectify this fault.
Under No circumstances utilise Trustpilot.

I've compared reviews of companies on Trustpilot and on other review sites. Trustpilot overall customer scores appear to be at odds with the customer scores on other sites. For example, Trustpilot score Musicmagpie as ‘4.7' and ‘excellent'. However, other sites rate Musicmagpie much lower. It appears that Trustpilot are manipulating review scores for paying customers. Possibly taking down negative reviews to enhance scores. As a result I'd advise caution before trusting Trustpilot. Look elsewhere for reliable info!

Honest but negative reviews are easily challenged by companies who interact with this lot. How else would Webuyanycar and Music Magpie get such strong reviews. Answer, they're not the full picture. Look elsewhere for honest reviews of companies that offer poor customer service.

Tip for consumers:
Just don’t bother and look elsewhere for reviews.

I have an account here along with Trustpilot because I do believe reviews in multiple places will help people avoid a bad situation if possible or to check the legitimacy of companies nowadays.

However, Trustpilot has a low level of authenticity and I believe that they don't care about how ethical the business owners really are. I've been scammed by some fake guru who said he would help me with my small business. He charged thousands of dollars which I can no longer get back and I found out that hundreds (or even thousands) of people unfortunately trusted this guy and also got scammed.

The guy's Trustpilot page has over 2000 reviews, almost 99% of them are positive, very fake and mostly poorly written reviews that don't even explain what he does. Instead, most of it is gibberish spam or talks about what a "nice guy" the scammer is. Meanwhile, all the legitimate negative reviews of people who got scammed were taken down except for very few of them, hence this scammer is able to keep his Trustpilot at nearly 5 stars.

I've tried reporting this numerous times to Trustpilot and even tried to contact them via email to their headquarters in my city. I was ignored. Many people also reported this scammer's other business page on Trustpilot. Trustpilot temporarily labeled the business page being "suspicious", but shortly after, it was fixed. Yet the primary business page of this scammer is still posting up fake positive reviews and scamming people while Trustpilot does nothing about it. It's getting to the point where I think this scammer pays Trustpilot too.

FYI: The worst part of all is that if you try to leave a review for this scammer, they make you show a receipt of your transaction and when you do, you might get hit with a cease&desist for violating a "NDA" and Trustpilot eventually will remove your review anyway.

Beware. While fake reviews are everywhere, I should've been more careful. Instead, I naively believed Trustpilot's ethics and stupidly believed all the positive reviews on this fake guru's page. After that, I even gave the fake guru (not knowing he was a fake at the time) a chance to explain the suspicious behavior of his Trustpilot page, only for him to BS me which I also naively believed. Then, I got ripped off and I can't even leave him a bad review there because he might try to sue for defamation.

Tip for consumers:
Firstly, avoid ANY business "opportunities" such as crypto, dropshipping, Amazon FBA, sports betting, etc. It's all a lie. They're all scams that just squeezes money from you and then they run. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Secondly, use Trustpilot wisely and research elsewhere (such as Reddit) or other forums. I've run into so many fake companies that post positive fake reviews on Trustpilot. It is made for you to believe that they're legitimate.

I used to believe in their platform, used to think they were one of the good guys. Not until they removed a review and when I submitted a support ticket about it, it came back automatically closed. Manuel S. States "Hi, Thanks for your email. In order to protect our platform, we unfortunately can't give you specific details about why your review was removed. However, you can read more about how our software works in our support article "Trustpilot's fraud detection software". Note that we look at a range of indicators and never remove a review based on one parameter alone. We consider this case closed and won't be reassessing our decision. We appreciate your understanding." What in the 'we said what we said so shut up about it move forward' kind of support message do you call this? Are all their support interactions this one way or just mine? Like they REALLY didn't want this to be a discussion at all did they? Just wow.
Bro what in the WE ARE THE highest upper echelon and condemn all ye who email support to have a dialogue with us kind of situation just happened. I don't know but I tell you what, I will never use their platform to submit another review or have another reason to invoke support ever again. Man what is actually happening right now.

You can not trust Trustpilot reviews, as they block accounts that give bad reviews. When you contact their integrity team(that's an oxymoron) The fail to respond, or say give proof of review, but fail to tell you what review caused the issue. For over two weeks i asked why was account blocked and what review caused issue. Here is their response

Hi,

Thanks for your email.

In order to protect our platform, we unfortunately can't give you specific details about why your reviews were removed and your profile blocked. However, you can read more about how our software works in our support article "Trustpilot's fraud detection software". Note that we look at a range of indicators and never remove a review based on one parameter alone.

We consider this case closed and won't be reassessing our decision.

We appreciate your understanding."

As you can see they don't care and have no integrity.
Therefore all I can say is their reviews are biased and they must be removing negative reviews.

I went onto the review page of trustpilot to complain about companies leaving fake 5 star reviews for themselves only to see trustpilot are at it themselves. Talk about conflict of interest. Why would they want great feedback for themselves?

Their job is to let people comment on how good/bad companies are yet their own page is full of invited reviews all 5 star, most don't even make sense.

If you do leave a bad review companies just get it removed. I got a review taken down as they wanted proof I had a contract with the tv company concerned. How I am supposed to show that? It's free to air. I'm sure had It been a 5 star review it would still be up

They keep removing my negative reviews for no reason! Wonder how many times they do this? Alot I guess. Deffinaly do not trust trustpilot, any business that gives them money they will protect with fake reviews and remove any negative reviews without reason!

Tip for consumers:
Take all the positive review with a pinch of salt chances are they are fake. Also if a site has loads of bad reviews they won't be paying trustpilot.

You go to the trouble of writing an honest review on a company, And Trustpilot don't like it, And remove your review.
So what is the point of using Trustpilot. There is'nt.
Trustpilot don't respect freedom of speech. Or your personal opinion... I've written 2 honest reviews on a certain dating site, And they've removed both... Kinda makes you think that some companies are paying them to remove certain negative but honest reviews...

Tip for consumers:
They don't like anyone to have an honest opiion, Even though what you've written about a company is true.

WITHOUT PREJUDICE

Ladies and gentlemen, Trust pilot integrity Team knew very well how important my reviews were to me and how hard I'm fighting for justice for my son, and without asking me whether I have evidence of what I've mentioned in my reviews they were fast at removing my reviews. I then sent them an email regarding them removing my reviews from their site and I sent them 2 evidence attached to that email. Whoever has done injustice to my son and me I will leave it to God to deal with them. Below is the email I sent to Trust pilot integrity Team.

Email:

To Trust pilot integrity Team

Attached to this email is 2 evidence for you to see for yourselves that I have no reason to lie and my reviews were my honest reviews of my experience. I have many more evidence too and I had sent the evidence to Judge Fletcher at the Stoke on Trent crown court and to the Sun newspaper and yet you people judged me Wrongly. God forgive.

Anyway, at least next time no one can judge me wrongly again or make me look like a liar when I'm an honest person. It's a shame you people judged me wrongly in the first place. The issue isn't about the evidence I have to prove to you people I was telling you the truth, the issue was you judged me wrongly and that hurts the most. Whoever removed my reviews is responsible without asking me whether I had evidence they just quickly removed my reviews. Whoever did this injustice to my son and me I will leave them to God to deal with them. Who am I to judge anyone, God is there to witness everything. I can't even sleep if I owe anyone a penny let alone lie about something.

At least now I can tell the world I have nothing to hide and I've spoken the truth of my experience on my reviews. I had put some Islamic quotes and what it says in the Qur'an about lying and how sinful it is to lie against an innocent because it causes a lot of harm and damage to the innocent victims. But you removed those reviews too and I found this disrespectful to our religion and beliefs. I respect everyone's religion and I hold no grudge against anyone. I received no apology nothing.

I rest my case.

Tan.

I used Trust Pilot for a few years and I considered the site to be good and unbiased.

I had written quite a few reviews and was never questioned. As normal, I, like more people, only comment or review when I get bad service. However, I decided to give an exceptional review on the Shark vacuum cleaner.

After the numerous reviews I had given, Trust Pilot refused to accept my review and asked for identification. I responded to the company from my email and stated I had issued the review and they would not accept it.

This was unbelievable for a company that is supposed to represent consumers. Now, I will wait to see if this gets deleted.

Trustpilot is a scam on consumers. Trustpilot charges companies to delete negative reviews regardless of cause and allows companies to post fake reviews. There is no way to remove a fake positive review or even object; if you "flag" a review, it just takes you to a screen that asks you to sign in as the company being reviewed, i. E., only the company being reviewed can flag, object to or remove a review. If you look at the numerous positive reviews of companies with problems you can see all cookie-cutter "excellent" reviews with short text and no details of product purchased, order number, etc., multiple "excellent" reviews all posted on the same day, odd names for reviewers (the types of fake and "off" names you see on your spoof phonecalls), and similar and blatant grammatical and spelling errors. Clear signs that the positive reviews are coming from overseas review mills that pay people a penny a review to post. Trustpilot never removes the positive reviews, only negative ones. Also check out the "about us" section on Trustpilot. Trustpilot brags about removing "fake" reviews but when you read the text, it is all reassuring companies (not consumers) that "fake" (meaning "bad") reviews will be removed. There is not one word about removing or preventing fake positive reviews posted by the companies themselves.

Attached a review I gave on Truspilot about Rebelle, they are a website where you can resell designer clothes, it was a horrible experience, they rejected an item without a reason, sent it back to me, only UPS never delivered (and my address is right been living there for years) and delivered it back to them, yet they will not reply. I gave the item number, the tracking number, the number of the registered letter I sent to Rebelle, everything you can check with a few clicks to verify (see attached screenshot) within minutes I get a mail from Trustpilot that they could not verify the authenticity of my review, apparently normal if a company pays them, they will then remove all bad reviews.

So I am minus a dress worth a few hundred, I can't leave a review, and Trustpilot protects them

I was using Trustpilot for years to post reviews, mostly good ones, then I discovered what happens if you post negative reviews about paying customers.
If a company is using their FREE services, then they do not care what gets posted. However any company who is paying for Trustpilot's premium service can just request for any negative review to be removed, and they will remove it. They will then request that you provide ridiculous evidence to prove your review is true. Such as written statements from the police, court orders, proof of phone calls etc.

Trustpilot are committed to collecting funds over real reviews. They encourage negative reviews to get companies to pay for their positive review process.

It's an industry that is very manipulated and needs to be regulated.
