STAY AWAY from this company.
You will regret trusting them.
It is easy to be fooled by good ratings from years passed, don't be fooled. Take the time to read every 1 star review here and on every platform before you make the mistake that I did, trusting "contemptible" pools. This once reputable company no longer stands behind their work, nor will they honor their warrantees.
RECENT REVIEWS
Show a clear pattern emerging:
1) appallingly poor customer service
2) substandard paver work
3) sandpaper rough finishes inside your pool / spa
4) leaky concrete finishes
5) failure to honor warrantee
Your warrantee from contemporary pools may be useful if you run out of toilet paper. It won't get Randy to do the right thing. The only clients who can expect a warranty from Randy F are contractors who hire CP to build multiple pools annually. As a regular homeowner, you do not rate. Once you've paid them, you can forget about getting anything further from them without a lawyer. Whatever goes wrong will be 100 % your fault, you will hear every excuse imaginable, why your pool issue "isn't their problem." I really do wonder how they manage to lie straight to your face and then go home and sleep at night.
1 star review after 1 star review shows that when "contemptible" messes up your pavers, or pours bad concrete mix, or leaves your new pool / spa with a finish that will ruin every swim suit you own,
They simply won't take responsibility. They simply don't care or need your business, they're riding on ratings from 3- 6 years ago and contractors who hire them for multiple pools per year. They don't need you and they show you that every chance they get. Who do you think will be getting their best teams? You? The residential homeowner is not their bread and butter and you will not be taken seriously nor will they take care of you. I invite anyone considering hiring this company to come see my pool. You will be appalled at the substandard concrete workmanship, the sandpaper rough pool finishing, the leaky retaining wall and appallingly bad paver work. Our deck had to be redone three times it was so uneven and poorly installed. When I asked them to fix the rough texture inside the spa, they told me to use a brick and grind it smooth myself. I've asked myself - isn't it strange that a company has either 5 stars or 1 star reviews? I think I've figured out why so many of us, looks like about 25%, get such sub standard treatment. If you are discerning managing your build and show any dissatisfaction with their work, you will be systematically ignored from that point onward and treated with egregious unprofessionalism.
They brag about building 200 pools a year but I know from personal experience, if you are not a contractor, your build will not be getting their quality subs.
The real cost of hiring contemporary pools is far greater than what you'll pay for your pool package. Here's our sad experience with them and how their incompetence cost us so very much. Our pavers, installed by them under the pool cage weren't set in concrete per engineering. Rarely during build, are field supervisors present on site. There is no one monitoring quality control.
The pavers which were to be the strength of our pool cages foundation, were set on a thin layer of sand and never properly set in concrete. On Sept 28,2022, as hurricane Ian approached, our new pool cage folded in on itself when the wind hit 60 mph. An engineer reviewing damages after IAn showed us that because contemporary pools never bothered to set our pavers properly in concrete, our cage had nothing but one paver securing it. It collapsed completely totally destroying gutters, fascia, and 4 storm smart screens.
Randy Fulmer doesn't care less about your single pool build, it is unimportant to their bottom line.
If you're a big contractor and build many pools with them each year, you may get preferential service and possibly even a warranty. The rest of are not so lucky.

Buyer beware,
I have spent a fortune buying door lock hardware from this disreputable company. Emtek refuses to stand by their product. We have been trying to get the defective Emtek hardware replaced to no avail. Early March 2023 Tech support agreed door width was correct per order via video chat and admitted sometime factory clearances are off and locks don't work. A replacement part was sent to remedy, arriving end of March 2023, sadly it failed to restore functionality. We called again to request a return of the 2 defective locks and spoke with tech support Emtek's Brian. At first he agreed to send replacements out and would accept return of the defects. However he then back tracked. He vacillated saying door was wrong size, trying every trick to somehow make it our fault not Emtek's.
Very unprofessional in light of the fact that in early March a video chat withEntekestabliahed door thickness was correct and hardware was defective. Our Master Carpentar, licensed with 30 years experience is being paid hourly to attempt fix Emtek hardware both times & tech support made us go through all the same scripted troubleshooting, very frustrating and very costly. Beware.
We have now paid $465 for 2 identical defective locks from Emtek, installation cost is currently at $750 with defective Emtek locks that will never work. Per initial video chat with tech early March, the clearances on Emtek's hardware are "not spec as occasionally happens." Door width was checked at that time and refuted as causality. 3/29/23 more money wasted with video chat with Emtek tech who refused to accept responsibility for defective merchandise gracefully.
We have had 3 licensed master Carpentar's review the install and each one has come to exact same conclusion; Emtek sold defective door mechanisms, period. We are out the cost of the locks $456, and $750 in install labor. The doors were special order 1 3/8 solid core 8' x 3' useless now because they are cut out for Emtek's non functional hardware.
To remove, replace, start over is about 2k per door. Emtek could have at very least suggested an alternate model lock they sell which we could use, so we don't have to start over and trash these expensive doors.
CONCLUSION
1) Emtek refuses to stand behind their products
2) Emtek techs seemed to be trained to blame consumer / installers for their defective hardware
3) Emtek tech support Brian continually spoke over us, he was not interested in what Carpentar or myself had to say. He did not care to listen or help at all. Steer clear.
Conclusion: EMTEK DOES NOT DO THE RIGHT THING AND DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT.
Do not buy from this company.

Amy S. – EMTEK Rep

Hi RJ,

I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed. It is never our intention to not stand by our products. I do want to reiterate that we did in fact send a replacement lock for you with the explicit instructions that the door needed to be replaced or fixed however.

Furthermore, just as Brian attempted to explain, your pocket door is thinner than a standard size required for this item and thus this product is not compatible with the door itself. The prep of the door in your provided images show cracks and holes on the sides of the lock box itself. Additionally, the image you provided to customer service shows that the doors are shy of 1-3/8" thick and that the lock body extends beyond the edge of the door instead of sitting flush.

No lock from any manufacturer can fix a damaged or poorly prepped door. We would still love to help you find a product that works and to change your experience but as long as you aren't willing to work with us, we regretably won't be able to do that.
