“This is a scam operation, which billed me an additional $150.00 for a stay that was less than $300.”

I booked a hostel in Paris, which noted cancellations, if required. This site voided any cancellations, plus charged a fee, exceeding 30% of the reservation. It would be better contacting another site. They are a rip off artist, especially, when making international reservations.

I would give zero stars if possible! NEVER book with this company! They will rip you off with fees. They charge 46% more than the price offered! They don't provide a refund, whereas the hotel I booked from does provide a full refund within 24 hours. I accidentally booked with getaroom.com because it was on the website of the hotel and I clicked on the wrong thing. Expedia offered the room for $10 cheaper than getaroom.com, and getaroom.com states if you find a room cheaper they will give you a refund or at least refund you the difference. They do not! This website is a scam! Beware! NEVER BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE!

Tip for consumers:
This website attaches to websites of hotels, so you think you are booking directly with the hotel and then you find out you went through this third party and we’re charged over 40% in fees!

DO. NOT USE THIS COMPANY…I booked a room for an overnight beach trip and they advertised as $329 for the night. But they charged me $511! The hotel
Couldn't help me because it was a third party … I called the company and they offered a discount. I didn't want a discount. I was scammed. Had to call my credit card company to dispute! $180 overcharge!

Tip for consumers:
Don’t use them to book a room. You will be charged more money then it says and you will have to dispute with your charge card!

Booked a room, when I went to hotel, I found out that I had unknowingly booked a hotel (same name) in a different city/ state. After being put on a waitlist for costumer service call, I was told my hotel was not able to switched to the actual location I was at not cancelled. I felt very undervalued. To me, the company had no problem taking money with no product able to be provided to me.

Yes- understand the cancelation policy- However, I feel that the situation could have easily been able to be rectified with them still having money AND taking care of their customer. This is the difference between a 5 star and 1 star. No customer empathy.

Booked a room at the Hyatt Cambridge, MD for 2 rooms in May. Went through the Hyatt website and was diverted to what turns out to be "Book aroom.com". Never knew this until we called to confirm our reservations for one night in September and learned from the Hyatt that there was a third party involved. Never received any confirmation info from "Bookaroom.com" Then we found out that the reservation is non-refundable or that the date could be moved up a day because of a hurricane rain event coming on the original date of our stay. Bookaroom.com will not call the Hyatt to see if the room can be moved up a day and the Hyatt won't call Bookaroom.com either. Neither party seems to value the fact that a customer needs assistance in resolving this matter an we are stuck. Going to look into suing the Hyatt and Book aroom.com for false advertising and fraud since there was no disclosure that Bookaroom.com was acting as an authorized agent for the Hyatt Hotel. Selected the Hyatt instead of Motel 6 because of their heritage and standing in the hotel industry. Should have booked with Motel 6 - they care about their customers and provide better "CUSTOMER SERVICE". Bookaroom.com is exactly what the name sounds like - a scam outfit. Looks like the Hyatt is not much better as they won't make any effort to resolve a simple issue. BEWARE of both.

Tip for consumers:
Both the Hyatt and these companies should be held responsible for committing fraud as they are not being transparent with having a third party involved in a purchase of services.

Products used:
Misrepresentation for a reservation service at the Hyatt Hotel.

First sign of knowing you WILL be had, is when they answer with a HEAVY accent and they don't speak English! NEVER make a reservation unless YOU call that property DIRECTLY! Web pages are a scam and designed to look like you are calling that property! You don't know your reservation is nonrefundable till you try to cancel it, then they say that is explained to you upon making resrvations. FALSE, LIE! You don't see that on their web page and they simply DON'T tell you! They need to be run out of business!

I was on a hotel website and thought I was making a reservation directly with the hotel itself. Bookaroom.com had imbedded itself into their website. I never saw their name nor was there ever any indication that a service of any kind actually took my reservation. I checked my bank on-line and found the $ for the reservation was immediately taken from my account PLUS a $368 booking fee. I called them and reached a woman working from her home. She told me the entire amount of hotel cost + bookaroom.com fee was non-refundable. This info was not disclosed during my booking process on-line. She did not have a manager who I could talk to. She did not have a company or address. There was no recourse. She absolutely did not care! Very matter of fact... no customer service skills whatsoever. The manager of the hotel had never heard of them. SCAM! I lost $1,500 b/c I had to cancel my trip due to covid. Unbelievable!

I got scammed by bookaroom.com they acted like they were the hotel I was charged $1000 above the stated cost, then I saw the charge on my card was much higher I challenged the guy on the phone he laughed and said " you said I could charge the card" I never received a confirmation to this day. I disputed with my credit card bookaroom manufactured a story how they booked me into a hotel whereby my credit card company shut off my card I had to use a different card to book my stay. This company is a scam their number shows up under the name of popular hotel name... Beware ask is this the hotel front desk I'm speaking to. Always wait for confirmation of a booking before you hang up always watch the charge on your card as you are placing the order. Don't get scammed by bookaroom.com

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO BOOK HOTELS! The company acts as a phishing site, it appears to be the actual hotel but it intercepts your reservation form and submits it under book-a-room.com. Wrong dates were reserved (not what I had chosen). Will not allow me to move to the correct dates or refund my money. They lied saying they would have to call the hotel and get their permission to change it. I told them who I spoke with so they could call and reschedule. They then told me they had to send an email to their 3rd party and ask to have the amount refunded. They aren't allowed to tell me who their 3rd party company is. They can't call out only receive calls. I told them I would have a representative call them and once again was told they could not handle the situation that way. I'm basically screwed out the money that was charged on my card.

Tip for consumers:
I didn't realize they were posing as the actual hotel

None....booking with another hotel. Hotels should not do business with this 3rd party agency

My husband thought he was reserving a room directly with the hotel, (looked like hotel res site complete with logo) and it was not until the end of the reservation that realized it was a "bait and switch" that he was in a third party site. He needed to make a change to the reservation and was not allowed to do so, had to cancel the whole trip to Reno Air Races... his only vacation for the year!
No rooms available!
Thank you for destroying his only vacation!

I booked a room at a La Quinta by calling a number that completely appeared to be the hotel's site (and I'm not a neophyte online). Plus when I called, they didn't identify themselves as bookaroom.com. Turns out their "tax recovery" fee is extremely high (clearly this is where they make their money) -- much higher than if I'd booked through the hotel, which I thought I was doing. And of course there's a "no cancellation" policy. This is not an ethical company and I urge people to be on the lookout.
