“This service has been pretty fantastic for me”

Don't know why all the bad reviews on Line2. I don't know about everyone else's experience, but I have been nothing but pleased with Line2. Provides a complete virtual office at a fraction of the price of Grasshopper, Ring2 or Vonage. Customers call in, has various extensions they can select, auto attendant if I want. I can auto forward any call to my outside service if i am out. Really has everything I need to run my small business.

“Once they have your number, they won't give it back”

We've been trying unsuccessfully to port out our business number from line2 to a local provider with 6-7 rejections. The local co sends in exactly the same information that line2 sends me (cut & paste) but something is always wrong, so they say. New company receives various error messages yet line2 claims their porting department hasn't received any requests. Either they are incompetent with their own system or unethical in stringing us out month after month with additional fees. Our well-known, long-established number is being held hostage by this company.

Careful with this one. I was texting a good friend on this line and had my account closed for violating the terms of service (spamming / advertising). I literally was having a conversation with one person over a period of 20 minutes. There goes my company number. They gave me boilerplate responses saying there was no way to reactivate the account. Doesn't sound like unlimited SMS to me.

I don't usually leave a review on any business. But this time I was forced to.

This is company scams small businesses. A few months ago I had to move my phone number to a different company as the call reception with Line 2 was poor.

It's been 5 months since I have moved to a new company but Line2 has still be charging me for the service I have not subscribed for. I do not have any phone number with them, but they still charge me for no reason.

I had tried calling the customer care to get this fixed, but they seem to claim that my phone number is still active with them. This is false because I have already ported my phone number over to a different company and am calling Line2 from the new company's app. They have also declined to offer me a refund for their false charges.

I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with my experience with Line2. I have lost over $300 and would never recommend Line2 to anyone. I am a small business owner and loosing $300 during pandemic doesn't help me.

Hence I wanted to share my experience with others to avoid them from falling in to this trap.

Thanks

This company stole my bank information and charged me $172.13 that I never authorized. I asked them to return my money they lied amd never did. That was all the money I had to feed my disabled son. The money they stole was from his disability check. I am going to make a complaint with the federal government for stealing funds from a disabled child. I informed them but they are heartless greedy theives!

Line2 charged my credit card $110.93 on Friday and credited my account $110.93 on Monday. When I called the service rep informed me Line2 detected the fraudulent charge to my account and refunded the money.
When I asked HOW Line2 detected the fraud the answer was not satisfactory. I am cancelling my credit card ASAP.
I have never even heard of Line2 until this charge on my credit card. My sense is someone or something is fishy.

If you enjoy having your accounts suspended and then permanently shut down without warning and without explanation, then THIS is the company for YOU!

If you like $#*!ty $#*!in customer service that contradicts their own emails at every turn then you'll LOVE the $#*! out of this company!

If you aren't a damn $#*!ing idiot then perhaps I can help you avoid a COSTLY $#*!IN MISTAKE.

In my business, leads reach out to me and I respond. I message them daily. Sometimes I send a lot of messages in a short amount of time.

Part I: Understandably, Line 2 was suspicious of my SMS volume and temporarily suspended my account. They did not let me know that this happened. I had to reach out to them. They then decided that the account was non-fraudulent and restored activity. I asked them what their parameters were (ie how many messages could I send in a day or hour) so I could comply with their service and not get suspended again. They could not provide specifics. They just said to reduce my frequency. Whatever the $#*! that means but okay, I'll reduce my frequency.

Part II: Less than a week later, my account was not just suspended but shut down, again without warning. I emailed customer support 4 times with no response. Finally after 2 days without hearing from them, I decided to hunt down their nearly impossible to find customer service line.

Part III: Customer service rep informs me that my account was shut down because of violation of terms and service. I asked what are the terms and why I wasn't notified. He said they sent an email (which they didn't). I asked him to restore it like they did last time so I could access my text messages and he said he can't and that the shut down was permanent. I asked him why they were able to restore it last time and not this time. He said the first time was a warning. I asked him to point out where in the email there was a warning. He couldn't. I then read the email out loud to him, emphasizing the part where they said that their review of my account was determined to be "non-fraudulent" which actually sounds like the opposite of a warning. He said there was nothing he could do and that my account was still shut down. I asked him to put me in touch with a manager. He refused and said he was a manager (which is a $#*!in bull$#*! customer service tactic that anyone with half a brain knows). I asked him why they won't work with me on restoring the account. He said they were "choosing" not to. I clarified by saying, "okay so it IS a choice". He dodged the question and just said that he couldn't restore it. I told him that I've done everything I can to comply and that they were refusing to work with me for no reason at all. He said that there is nothing he can do and that my account is shut down.

STAY THE $#*! AWAY FROM THIS $#*!IN COMPANY.

Oh and also, they don't have a way of maintaining their own contact lists. So enjoy having all your business contacts mingled with personal ones. As if that isn't the biggest oversight in existence. $#*! these idiots.

Made for few contacts, Here is their problem, it was invented by nerds and Not Intuitive to typical " real world users " or understanding of real world usage of its features LIke many failed products are these days, " unless you built it you'll never understand how to use it! Makes you appreciate Apple products!
Zero R & D, and No outside opinion on how it works or lack thereof, getting contacts to migrate into the desktop App in usable format to text was a nightmare of wasted hours, CLUNKY this would work great for a few hundred continues, contacts MAX, beyond that NO!

I was mortified to hear such rude customer service from this company. I used the service for a period of time. My credit card number had changed and they sent me an email saying that my payment failed and I would only receive inbound calls. I was to contact them to update my credit card information. I did not want to continue the service so I did not. A week later the charge went through on my new credit card. I contacted them and was told how to cancel my account. However, under no circumstances were they going to refund my annual fee on this account. The customer service individual was rude and told me that it is between me and my credit card company and their policy says no refunds. I would recommend that you do not go with this company... Not worth your money.

I've NEVER heard of this company and yet they somehow billed me for their services that I NEVER signed up for! I can't talk to anyone because all you get at their listed number is a list of options that all tell you to e-mail them. What a literal case if theft. BEWARE!

In the beginning I received good customer service. Then one day ALL my contacts disappeared from the Line2 web site. I asked several times for help to restore my contacts. All customer support kept saying was, what is OS? And I kept saying ummm the problem is YOUR web site deleted MY contacts. They ignored me, so I cancelled their $#*! and happily found another service.

That any company would have these provisions in their contracts is unconscionable.

This is simply stealing... and there is nothing you can do about it...

First problem I had with line 2 was the constant phone drops due to service, only time it fairly worked well was when hooked up to WiFi, my second problem was that Ive been charged for 5 months on a number I did not use which totals out to about 59 Dollars. My third problem was that when trying to contact line 2 my only way to reach them is through email. And the last problem was that when I asked for a refund after proving all bank statements they tell me they wont refund any money because its too old. I realized this problem because they charged me this month and I canceled the service last month, for whatever reason the cancellation didnt go through thats why I was charged again, come to find out somehow when I switched cards before they saved one, so line 2 was billing me & Apple store was billing me. I was told by line 2 rep to contact Apple to deal with my problem. Worst service ever, would not recommend to anyone!

I signed up with them, and only to get charged different than what my plan is. I signed up for the $9.95 basic plan and received a confirmation to the amount. After a few days, i checked out my credit card online statement and found out that they charged me $13.01
I sent them emails after emails, but their billing wouldnt reply to my email.
I also tried making an international call, i received an error asking me to call support and enable this feature. When i called their support, after some 25 minute wait, their support asked me to send a copy of my US/Canadian ID to enable this feature. We i am neither canadian nor american, and had i known that this is a strict policy, i would not have signed up.
Today, i found out by accident that line2 is an affiliate of j2 one of the worst companies. People who signed up for an eFax service with them in the past bad experiences.
I dont recommend them. I heard of a company called iPlum but not sure how good they are.
Beware of Line2. They are a SCAM

Everything was fine with the app, until it wasn't. For some crazy reason, there is no phone number you can call to trouble shoot (even though my salesman said there was reliable suport) I run a multimillion dollar business, and when there is a phone issue, I need it resolved immediately. It has been days of emails back and forth, each time with me BEGGING for someone to pick up the phone and CALL me, as my problem is too complicated to work out via email. I think I have had communication with four different people so far (via email) and each time had to spend twenty minutes of my day trying to describe my problem in writing. FINALLY, this morning, I received an email saying that my problem was too complicated to resolve via email, and that a phone call would be best. Then I was asked to schedule an appointment time, for said call. I am still sitting here waiting for "said call" on Sunday, my only day off during the week. Insane that a PHONE SERVICE doesn't have a number you can call to troubleshoot problems. The income of all our employees relies on my phone WORKING, and working properly.

If you think you can port your number to this company. Think again. They like to pretend like they are a phone service but I requested to port my number in and 20 days later it was still not completed. The response was "the provider we use to port numbers is backlogged". They couldn't do in 20 days what it takes most providers 20 minutes to do. Also, they have no live support that you can call. It is all either chat or email. Call me crazy but if you are providing phone services, you should have a phone number. There are a lot of alternatives in the VOIP and phone market. Do your homework!
