I booked a car in Maui over Thanksgiving months ahead. After the fires there all the prices had dramatically reduced. I asked Wisecars to cancel so I could rebook something cheaper and they offered instead a much better rate that I could not match elsewhere. I checked this was an all inclusive rate and they confirmed in writing that it was and there was nothing to pay at collection. When I tried to collect the car Thrifty said there was $350 to pay and after we argued for a while they said they would match the quoted price and I collected the car, thinking we were good. Of course when I returned the car Thrifty just billed my credit card $350 and their support team were not interested to help me. I went back to Wisecars and raised a case. I took them 8 weeks to complete it but I got a refund for the over charge. There are plenty of issues with car rental companies and although I could have preferred not to have any issue I am impressed with Wisecars honoring the rate they quoted and will happily book with them in the future.

They canceled my reservation and denied a car to me, my baby, husband, sister and 2 nephews. The 6 of us had to hustle exhausted around the airport and find a new car rental for twice as much. Those people treated us like humans though wisecars/priceless was shameful. Beware - if it looks too good to be true it is in this case! I had a "guaranteed booking with protection package" ha- lies.

I've concluded an online transaction with Wisecars, I've paid and received a confirmation with the total price clearly stated, as well as the remaining price to pay at zero… but 10 days later I've been contacted by Wisecars saying they've made a mistake in the price and I have to either cancel my booking or pay nearly double price, which is of course neither professional, nor legal.

However, upon reviewing the details of your reservation, it appears that you selected 12pm as the pick-up time when making the booking. Additionally, you agreed to the terms and conditions provided by the supplier, which stipulate a two-hour window for honoring reservations.

We understand that your flight arrived later than the initially selected pick-up time, but unfortunately, you did not inform us of this delay beforehand. Once a booking is made and terms are agreed upon, they cannot be changed, as they are set by the supplier. The information about the 2 hour grace period was included in the terms and conditions when you originally made the booking in December. While we regret any misunderstanding, our ability to intervene is limited once the pick-up time has passed.

Regarding the protection package you purchased, it indeed offers flexibility for cancellations or modifications up to two hours before the pick-up time. Had we been informed of your delayed arrival before 12pm, we would have been able to assist you in adjusting your reservation accordingly.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion or disappointment caused by the discrepancy between the initial confirmation and the voucher details. In June of 2022 I pre paid for my car on line, the original carge was 364.61. I was double charged for the rental. 786.56 was charged to my charged again.TOTAL of 1151.17 for my rental. I have called, emailed, have claim numbers, sent copies that were requested, jump through thier hoops with ZERO help in resolving this charge.Stay clear of this company Wisecars. They are a horrible rental company.They work with rental car lots and because it is a third party...you have no recourse. What I learned is keep scrooling and never click on Carwises ever again.

I rented a car for my holidays through Wisecars as it was much cheaper than going directly with the car rental company. The procedure was easy, important information was highlighted. I was a bit worried about the pick up, but it turned out just as easy! I showed the voucher, signed the papers with the supplier and went on the trip! I would definitely recommend.

I paid for the car reservation, arrived at the agency and they didn't give me the car without any explanation. All my documents are correct without fines. In other words, the company charges for the reservation and is not responsible for the service. He didn't give me a car or give me any money back. This is fraud

Complete Scam. Avoid at all costs!
Would give zero stars if I could. I booked my rental with Wisecars to pick up a rental in San Antonio with Fox Rent A Car. Fox did not have what we needed so the cancelled our reservation and said that we should call WiseCars and WiseCars would refund us. I called WiseCars and for a week they kept saying, "oh the necessary documentation isn't in blah blah blah to process your refund. After a week of this they said that they never refund in these situations. So not only did they not refund me, they never intended to, and wasted hours more of my time calling in. In the end, it was less than $250 for me but I will never rent from these crooks again and advise everyone else to steer clear. Even if the rental car place cancels your reservation, they will not refund your money.

This company is both shady and expensive… They were completely unwilling to work with two elderly people in regards to the pick up date. They charged over $500 from them. We ended up going directly to the car company and it was resolved. Use Priceline use KAYAK both are exponentially cheaper. A complaint was filed with the credit card company. The car company that was going to be renting them. The car was happy to place them in one, and no extra cost… Stay away.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid at all cost. Extremely expensive. Priceline come kayak, Expedia is fire cheaper. I’ll go directly to the car rental company.

DO NOT rent from this company! They denied me refund of a rental fee by saying I was a no show because I did not have a credit card. I've never had trouble renting from a company with a debit card before, even internationally, and don't even own a credit card. Never mind that I had already paid the majority of the rental fee and only owed a small amount or that the no debit card policy was not included in the confirmation email. Or the fact that their policy is buried in the terms and conditions and not obvious on their website. I was not even offered a partial refund. I was simply out of luck and had to scramble to rent from another company at a higher rate. They do NOT care. I will NEVER rent from them again.

Tip for consumers:
I stand by my review. The word debit is no where to be found in the terms of service and was not included in the confirmation email. I did not see the voucher email and do not have a copy of it. Even if I had received it, I would not have had time to apply for and receive a credit card within the 48 hour notice. The lack of any type of reimbursement for loss of funds and inconvenience shows a lack of concern for the customer and is poor customer service.

They hide behind their Terms and Conditions, they pay their suppliers in advance, and can't get their money back from their service providers if anything goes wrong. Stick with renting direct from rental companies.

I did reservation over wise car for six days in Cologne and I did my payment in advance, My flight delayed and passport control took time and I arrived late, service provider told me they cancel my reservation, And they did present me any other option and they took six days payment from me, I think its not fair, they might took maybe one day but not six days, Wise Car has no sanction over service provider
I am leaving this note here because Wise Car is only broker not giving good service

Rented a car in Denver. Price due at pickup was $89.71. My receipt at pickup was over $149. I was told to take it up with Wisecar directly. My credit card was charged over $171. Called Wisecar and got no help and no refund for overcharges. Stay away - You think you are getting a good deal but they overcharge you after the fact. Total scam company!

We had to cancel within the 48-hour deadline. Despite extenuating circumstances, they insisted on retaining a 20% cancellation fee. I asked for a supervisor review. I was later informed that a supervisor did review the case and preferred to stick with their rigid policy rather than consider their customer's situation. They neglected to inform me of the supervisor's involvement. They care more about claiming every penny than about customer service. They lost me as a future customer.

After checking your booking, you contacted us once the 48h cancellation window had already expired. Considering that this was a medical emergency, we agreed to refund you for your booking minus the No-Show fees that were already charged to us by the supplier. The refund represented more than 80% of the amount you paid to us.

The reason we have a 48h cancellation policy is because after this window, the supplier takes payment for the booking. We think this is a fair resolution as this was a violation of our Terms of Service and the only amount kept was the fees that were already charged to us by the supplier.

I apologize if our service did not meet our expectations but we have a special procedure for these cases that cannot be broken on the basis of a customer's satisfaction.

Their "happy flow" probably works fine but they made a little mistake with my reservation which costed me 266 euros. Now their customer support suddenly stopped responding.

I'll ltake legal steps because i'm done being screwed over by car rental companies but they clearly count on the fact most people won't for a couple of hundreds...

Just don't book here, find another one

Do not use this company. Tell you one price increases buy 400% when you pick it up. Yes they will look into this when you question. You could be dead by the time this happens. Scam artists.
Wait, whoops a reply via another review. Lies all lies. Did I choose to pay and extra $120USD for airport pickup where I had booked to pick up, NO another $79.00 for recovery fee (already had taken insurance.). They don't even give you the right of reply.

I am not able to find a reservation with your name. Wisecars lets customers compare different car rental companies deals and does not alter prices after a reservation has been done- the suppliers are in charge of car rental pricing and by our agreement have to follow the agreed booking prices and terms.
As we can not identify the reservation sadly we are unaware of what exactly happened here, the extra products, fees and taxes charged at the location are managed by the car rental companies not Wisecars. Please contact us directly.

DO NOT, under any circumstances, use this company. Their 'service' is less than worthless. It is actually a hinderance to travel. We thought we had a guaranteed reservation, showed up at the airport and were told there are no cars. They have several reasons why they can't refund the money, so when I mentioned that we would deal with it through our credit card company the representative said, "Oh, you don't want to do that." When I asked why not, I was told that in the case of a forced credit chargeback, the service agents will stop trying to help or communicate. That's ok. They aren't really helping or communicating anyway. WHAT. A. NIGHTMARE.

We used no products or service. Our credit card was charged, but we received no rental car. The representative at the Thrifty rental counter said that there were no cars available. Wisecars still has our money and we have no rental car.

I would like to share my unfortunate experience with this farce of a service. I am autistic and not very good at these kinds of things but needed a way to get around while I visited my daughter in Phoenix. I was drawn in by the too-good-to-be-true pricing and happily paid for a reservation with Fox rent a car through the wisecars site. I intended to use a visa debit with line of credit at pickup since it said credit only and those are typically accepted as such.

Fox was awful…I tried to call them 3 times before they closed as my flight was arriving near the time they shut down at 12:30am. They never bothered to answer and nobody was at the desk when I arrived just moments late. I patiently waited until they were to open at 4am and nobody showed up. About 15 minutes later I called wisecars who were unable to help or contact anyone from Fox including the location manager. Eventually at 4:25 I finally found an agent wandering the parking garage and attempted to retrieve my reservation. The agent was impatient and rudely threw the debit card back at me without even asking if it had line of credit and unkindly told me they were unable to help. I was now stuck in Phoenix with no way around and a large part of my funds tied up. All in I was up for 40 hours dealing with this thanks to uncaring companies who view people only as numbers.

I contacted wisecars and told them of the situation. They contacted Fox who lied about my calls and claims. I showed wisecars photo evidence to back up my claims. They were unwilling to offer reasonable satisfaction and hid behind a dubious justification in their terms that only worked if they ignored my claims about how Fox handled the situation. They ignored my evidence and needs and stole from a struggling family by hiding behind "procedure" rather than having true consideration for a situation.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! AT THE VERY LEAST GO DIRECT AND SHOW THEM A SCREENSHOT OF WISECARS PRICE…THEY WILL MOST LIKELY MEET OR EVEN BEAT IT TO KEEP THE MONEY THAT WOULD OTHERWISE GO TO WISECARS IN FEES.

GO DIRECT...USE SCREENSHOT OF WISECAR'S PRICE FOR BETTER DEAL AND BETTER SERVICE!!

I easily found a wide selection of cars at competitive prices. The customer support team was attentive, and responsive, and provided valuable assistance throughout the booking process. Rented car for pickup at airport in Atlanta and when I got to counter Thrifty had no cars available. Told me to cancel through third party which i called immediately and they said it would be refunded. Since that time Wisecar has said its Thriftys issue and they cant issue refunduntil Thrifty can confirm i did not complete the reservation which they have done. Wisecar collected my money and should make the refund but is saying they dont have proof i didnt pick up car.

I used them in Kauai, Hawaii to rent a car from the airport. They put me on to Dollar Car, the company that provided me the car. I had to send Wisecar reminders to provide me the contract which was sent only 24 hours instead of 48 hours. I stood in the queue for nearly 2 hours as I had already paid for the car. Wisecar could have advised that I could go through the paperwork by registering with Dollar on the internet. This would have saved me waiting in the queue. I would not use them again. I suggest that go to Dollar directly and register with them while on the islands of Hawaii.
They seem to have self rating system as I could not add this review on their website

Tip for consumers:
Contact Dollar or Avis or Enterprise as rental company directly when in the islands of Hawaii
