Love the selection at The Bay. Recently tried to use a new gift card online and it would not work. Called customer service and, although it took a while to sort out, it was not the customer service person's fault. He stuck with it, resolved the issue and and even sent me a new gift card to replace the one that wouldn't work without me even asking for that.

I returned the item as requested and tracking number confirmed that they received it but nothing happen since then (no refund - no response). Of course, I sent an email and they mentioned that they will respond to my email within 2 or 3 days, but again, no news from them. What kind of business treats their customers that way? The amount of my invoice was more than 600$ for multiple items. Very disappointed.

I have bought a Geox shoes for my toddler through their website. I didn't even notice it is final sale. It was just 20% off. Why would it in the first place as final sale for such little discount?
I contacted them after receiving the shoes right away and as any respectful company they should try to return or exchange if the shoes were faulty. It is size 8 which is supposed to be bigger than my son's foot and it turns out to be smaller and tight. The customer service did not even try to negotiate or try to compensate for that. It was a firm no return/exchange policy and they can't do anything. I am very disappointed. I have a HB gift card, I will use it and then I will never show up or buy anything from their company. So disappointing!

Yes they need to improve their customer service or otherwise they will lose their customers overtime

I purchased a Samsonite NXT suitcase at the BAY today. Retail value according to The BAY $575.00 less 60%. I came home and looked up the suitcase for reviews ect. It turns out that this suitcase RETAILS at $224.95. No sale! Just marked up and stuck a sales sign up. I will be returning the Samsonite Winfield NXT Spinner Medium Expandable Luggage -Charcoal and cancelling my BAY Credit Card ASAP

It seems customers are an annoyance for staff at the Cosmetics counters at The Bay Stores. They would rather stand & talk with their co workers than serve customers. If you do get their attention it's not with a smile or any politeness. After finally getting served & spending $300, I noticed when I left the store the cashier never gave me my points. I went back to ask & was told they don't do that anymore, & that it was too late to claim them. I plan to cancel my card & shop elsewhere in future. One time I can accept bad customer service but this happens all too frequently at The Bay. It's a shame cause I wanted to support a Canadian company.

I ordered my husband a robe in November through one of their partners, Leveret. It was reg. $139.00 on sale for $55.00. We received it mid December and were very surprised to see a price tag on the robe for $39.99. I emailed them asking for a full refund as this was fraud. I was told by the Bay that I would have to contact Leveret, who in turn told me to contact the Bay. I go all kinds of excuses and went back and forth for 2 months. I think they do this on purpose and most people will just give up. Not me! The last time I told them them that if I did not get the refund, I would contact the Better Business Bureau, Marketplace Investigations and I would plaster all the pictures and emails on social media. I finally got my refund. And just to show how little they care, this happened to someone else in Sept. (had I noticed that review before, I wouldn't have ordered it). So, the Bay was aware of this and still allowed them to continue. So sad! The Bay used to be a Canadian Icon…not anymore!

Tip for consumers:
If reputable companies want to give their platform to smaller businesses to sell their products, it up to them to do proper vetting of their vendors. Since customers are going through their online shopping website, if something goes wrong they are ultimately responsible. And if they have previously been made aware of a situation and do nothing, then they are crooks too!

On The Bay purchased expensive Pajar boots. Totally falling apart within Pajar warranty period of 6 months. Pajar says warranty is not applicable since bought online through The Bay. The Bay says deal directly with Pajar. At a loss.

I ordered two sets of Hotel Collection towels from the Bay's online store. I have purchased this brand in the past because of its quality. However, these ones were anything but good quality. I thought they felt lighter and not as thick as previous ones, but gave them the benefit of the doubt and prepared to use them by washing them. I was shocked to find clumps of lint on the inside of the washer tub when I opened it to put them in the dryer, but then after they were dried, the dryer's lint trap was overfull, absolutely stuffed with a mat of lint. The towels had pulls and hanging threads in several places. When I contacted customer service, they told me that they were a final sale (true) and could not be returned. When I complained about the quality, they told me they would give me 10% off. When I replied that I wanted them to stop selling sub-standard items as a quality line, they said I could have a $10 gift card.
Completely and utterly unsatisfactory. It seems they are now selling junk as if it were the same quality as years ago. I won't be shopping there, online or in person, again.

On-line product are not provided by the Bay but third party sellers - received wrong product, no response from third party seller and no response from the Bay about providing a refund on a product I have not received. Only bots on line or responses from out of country people. No longer a reliable company. One star is too much in my opinion.

I have been buying from the bay website for years, a few hundreds of $ every month. I never had a bad experience until just now. And this will be the LAST time i will ever buy from the bay. I ordered 900$ worth of stocks from the bay, which the stock were coming from their marketplace ( Aosom / Home com). I didn't receive 3 items worth 500$. Not only the supplier did not do any thing to make sure I receive my undelivered items, which were dumped by FedEx anywhere, but not to my door, also the bay did not lift a finger to come up with a solution. The bay customer service a woman who barely spoke any common sense language, situated in far away in another country named ROMAN RICK, said, this is not the Bay problem that I did not receive my order, I have to deal with the vendor Aosom/ Homecom who refused to replace the item nor to credit me…… but this company was selling on the bay website and I was charged to the Bay on my invoice.

Total scam, robbery and much not need headaches. We all know times are tough, but it doesn't mean the bay should go scam ordinary people with hopes they purchase items from so called recognized website 'the bay' and not only we don't receive the item, but they get such poor poor customer service by bay and scammers like aosom and homecom on their web.

No solution to this issue, just a bad taste that I will stop giving my monthly business to the bay by on line purchasing… and I will tell everyone about my experience at work, that this sharks stole my money and case closed just like that! Referring to the bay order no. *******754 so bay can trace their loss of future business from a loyal many many years customer.

Bought some bowls from them online, came in simply single layer wrapped in a very large box with a lot of empty space, half of them were broken in the package.
Contacted customer service both through Email with photo and called, didn't get resolution.

Ordered a couch from The Bay. UPS was delivering the couch today. I waited all day for the couch and it was left in the entrance of the building. The delivery person did not even contact me to see if I was there and to bring it to my door. I had to pay someone to bring it to my apartment because of the weight. I am really nos impress since it was written no where the package would be left at the door of the building.

Une si grande compagnie qui n a pas un service a l a clientele on attend des heures au telephone et quand on nous repond ils ne sont meme pas capable de resoudre un simple probleme. Le pire si vous achetez un article a la baie et c est une autre compagnie qui fait l envoie vous etes foutus. Le rembousement n arrive pas et s il arrive il faut compter 2 a 3 mois. La baie ne s en mele pas et chacun nous renvoie a un autre service. La Baie devrait fermer ses portes car ils ne sont plus capable de gerer. PLUS JAMAIS LA BAIE D HUDSON

j ai achete une valise CHAMPS a la baie d hudson et j ai paye la baie mais la valise ne convenait pas du tout a la description et au moment de me faire rembourser c est tout un probleme la baie et champs se rejettent la balle et cela fait des semaines qu on me fait attendre. Le service a la clientele de la baie est nulle ils repondent rarement et qu and ils repondent ils n ont pas de reponse.
Quand a CHAMPS ILS REPONDENT QUE LEUR SYSTEME NE FONCTIONNE PAS. LA BAIE C EST NUL PLUS COMME AVANT

Me and 3 friends were sitting on one of their couches for a few seconds to decide where we're going next and an employee snapped very rudely at us to get off the furniture if we're not going to buy and when we got off to walk around the store she shouted at me to place a pillow I had slightly displaced. After that we looked at the candles and were deciding whether to get one or not but then saw probably the manager aggressively walking towards us. We went to wait between the doors to the parking lot and the store when he yelled and gestured for us to come back and then we did and explains that we were waiting to be picked up, but he then screamed at us and kicked us out of the store to just wait outside in the cold and rainy weather. Overall VERY bad experience.

Tried to order pants that had a 30% off to be reflected at checkout. That didn't happen so called Customer service where I was disconnected from first call then second call had them telling me it was only the colour I wanted that wasn't on sale. When I proved that none of them were coming up on sale at checkout she basically said she couldn't help me. If I wanted to escalate I would have to wait 48 hours for a manager to assist. The Bay is prehistoric with its dated technology and uninformed staff. Terrible as they used to be a great Canadian brand.

If your package gets stolen, they blame the consumer and not the delivery company. Even though they're insured for events like this, they refused me a refund because a "delivery photo" was taken. Doesn't matter where it was taken, as long as there's a delivery photo taken, according to Hudson's bay, it's "delivered". Now the onus is on the consumer to burden the cost. Don't even waste your time calling customer service, they just repeat the same thing to you over and over again.

I bought a sofa and was told pick up would be December 6 and I would get a phone call or email. I'm still waiting, no one can tell me if the sofa is sitting there waiting to be picked up. When they check they say oh yeah I can see its there I'll send an email and confirm, then I hear nothing. Went into the store I purchased it at and was lied to from the "manager" that he would escalate the issue with the warehouse and I would be receiving a call from him or an email by that evening or the next day, it's now again been two days and radio silence. This is the worst customer experience I've ever had with a store. Their inability to resolve something that should be very easily resolved is infuriating. Don't lie to your customers and then just stonewall when questions get asked. One call center guy who I could barely understand had me on hold for 15 minutes while he "looked into the issue" then just disconnected the call. A good customer service rep would call back, they have my number, you have to give it to them before they do anything with your call so…. It's just the worst most Mickey Mouse set up imaginable. Avoid purchasing any big furniture item that you can't take from the store immediately.

I had ordered two special mugs as part of a gift. One came broken and Canada post sent a notice acknowledging the break, so I thought, easy, the bay can get their money refunded (10.00, by the way) and they'll surely solve my issue in time. I was shoved off to some woman from some other country who had a child screaming in the background. It dawned on me that the Bay had outsourced their "customer service" to someone who would accept absolute minimum pay and would give the customer the runaround so they'd never have to deal with it. She kept telling me to take a picture and send it to her. I did! Three times! It still wasn't enough for her to resolve the massive ten dollar issue🙄. She spoke such broken English that I couldn't even understand her most of the time and when we were able to communicate she just kept telling me to send pictures. I kept telling her that I had sent pics but she was ignorant of it. I finally was so frustrated and angry that I just brushed it off and left it. It wasn't worth that much stress for a 10.00 item. But they lost a lifetime loyal customer over a 10.00 item and they didn't care. I used to love shopping at the bay and never understood peoples' complaints but I sure do now. That all happened two years ago and I've never been back. Several friends and relatives have also stopped shopping with them. Sad. The last big Canadian company is absolute crap.

Purchased a couch and expected delivery in 4 months. Sold my old couch a week before delivery date. Contacted customer service to find that it would be an additional 2 months before delivery. 2 months pass and I'm still waiting so I contact again and told it's still a month away. I'm now on holiday so I ask them to contact me via email so I can have a family member accept delivery. So they call instead while I'm overseas and I don't get the message. I phone again to arrange delivery and I'm told the couch is ready for pickup. While I've already paid for delivery I have to convince the bay that I've already paid for delivery. Problem solved so I think but I again have to confirm delivery and again told it's ready for pickup. If all goes well I'll get it Friday 8 months and 1 week after I paid for it.
Never again will I step foot in this store.

I purchased a pair of formal "Lucky Brands" boots with a regular price of $175 on Nov 17. I wore them out for a business function for one evening...one evening...ONE! When I got home and took them off, i saw that there was a hole on top of one of them, about 3 cm from the end.
Today, Dec 18, I took them back expecting a refund and was told that they would not do a refund in their condition because they couldn't be put back out for sale. I pointed out that their condition (the hole) was the reason that I was returning them.
He told me that he would give me a credit for today only and that it had to be used for shoes. I told him that the first pair was defective and that I don't want another pair of defective shoes. He was adamant that I could have a credit on shoes but else.
I used to like shopping at The Bay but now I say Don't waste your money buying anything there".

I would have give 0 stars for their online platform. I bought 3 part online thinking I am buying them from Bay but its end up being 3rd party to which has no store to return these items.
Bay is trying to compete with Amazon? I don't think so, you can return items to Amazon without any cost but Bay leave customer to the mercy of original; supplier.

I will never shop again online at Bay.

16th Saturday December 2023, I went to The Bay "Chanel" counter to purchase a few things.
Three sales persons were there one was with a customer. The other two were doing nothing.
I said hi to the two that was doing nothing, no response, no smile they looked at me like, who the hell are you kind of an attitude.
I asked to buy a product the older sales person said they don't have that. The other one was a Asian person. She was like trying to tell me what kind of brand Chanel was how Chanel don't make new things.
I said to her I got a sample from Holt Renfrew N I'm looking to buy the full size.
While I was still talking to this Asian sales person she just left me. Didn't bother to excuse even. I can understand if I kept on asking questions. She was in such hurry to get rid of me. I was there may be 3 minutes she just didn't want to answer my questions no help at all. Those two sales persons very judgemental.
They treated me differently because of the colour of my skin.i was surprised that attitude from the Asian person.this happened at the Fairview mall point clair Montreal.
The hudson Bay needs to hire people with better values. The needs it's customers. Fortunately for the customers there are other shops that sell fragrances N cosmetic.
I just cut down my list from that horrible counter N went to Sephora who welcome the customers with a smile N treat with care.
They donsell Chenal products but there are other shops just as good as Sephora.thank God for that.
I've asked my family N friends not to buy Chanel from the Bay Fairview point clair.

I order two items and Hudson's Bay store doesn't take them back; you have to ship the item back and pay for shipping. I paid $26.46 for the posting fee, and 3 weeks past, and still waiting for a refund
I contact them 7 times and complain; unfortunately, nobody cares.
NO customer service!
I never ever go to The Bay online shopping again; the company does NOT understand what is online business at all.

On October 17,2023, I visited Bay Bramalea City Centre and observed an incident where a man was walking in the store with two heavy comforters. It seemed like some of the workers were cautiously observing him, possibly suspecting him of stealing. Eventually, one of the workers approached him and took the comforters to the cashier, while the man continued shopping.

The next day, October 18, I returned to the store to pick up a few items that were difficult to carry around. I placed them in a bag that I brought with me. Surprisingly, the same lady who had approached the gentleman on the previous day approached me and asked if I needed any help.

I must express my concern about this kind of treatment towards a specific group of people. It is unfair to target individuals based on their ethnicity. I had experienced a similar situation on October 17 when I purchased heavy items and struggled to carry them around without any assistance from the store. It is important to provide support for all customers, regardless of their background. Everyone deserves to feel valued and respected while shopping.

Bought a very expensive Rowenta Iron (269.99 plus tax) at The Bay, St. Albert in Feb 2023. It is only 7 months old and it started leaking badly about two weeks ago.

Took it back for an exchange or refund, but apparently their return policy is thirty days. Funny that was not mentioned when I bought it. Oh, sorry. On the back of the receipt in the smallest possible print is their 30day policy.

I now have a $269.99 paper weight. The cashier helpfully pointed out the 1-800 number to call Rowenta to see if they will do anything. Yeah, that always works.

I was, till today, a faithful Bay shopper. We are talking 60 years plus. This experience tells me that customer service or standing behind a product they sell is no longer in service. They seem to have forgotten that there are many other places to shop. That is where my money will be spent from now on.
